The University of Calgary’s Petroleum & Energy Society (PES) held its winter session industry mixer on March 29. Wally Kozak, past chair, attended the event on behalf of CSEE.
The event was centered on a panel Q&A session. Representatives of five energy focused entities spanning upstream oil and gas, clean-teach, midstream & services were questioned on energy-career issues. While each of the panelists brought their own experiences and perspectives forward there was consistency in the responses.
Questions included: changes in the energy sector over the past decade; the importance of field work early in one’s career; transferability of skills and emerging trends.
A well attended event worthy of CSEE’s future support to encourage energy as a career choice.
