CSEE’s Outreach activities have kicked into high gear again now that the summer break is over.
Our Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) – “21st Century Energy Transition – How do We Make it Work?” (https://www.coursera.org/learn/21st-century-energy-transition?) has been online for one year, and has been a great success, with more than 4100 students enrolled. It continues to garner widespread interest, top star ratings and rave reviews. We are currently working on an update for the MOOC, as the energy world moves so quickly that year-old information is sometimes old news!
CSEE Outreach continues to represent the broad interests of CSEE’s diverse membership. Outreach Chair Brad Hayes presented on “New Canadian Oil and Gas Supply” at the World Petroleum Congress, and will be expanding that presentation for University of Calgary Petroleum Energy Society students in October. He is also addressing University of Alberta Petroleum Engineering on helium and lithium exploration, and geothermal energy.
Energy Transition remains the most popular topic, however, and there are presentations scheduled this fall to financial groups, post-secondary students, and to staff from CSEE corporate members. Please contact the CSEE office if you are interested in having a CSEE Outreach presentation for your staff or group
